It was named "Tsubaki Plate" as the shape resembles a camellia flower when looked from the side. It is a standard plate used to serve sweets and other foods, often used in both Eastern and Western environments. If Eastern, sweets would include Namagashi (moist sweets), such as yokan, and higashi (dry Japanese sweets). If Western, the plate could serve cakes and cookies, with which would suggest a character, gorgeous than usual.
