Counted as one of the Six Ancient Kilns in Japan, it is a Bizen ware with a 1000-year history.
Created without glazing, utilizing local potter's clay for soil making and 10 tons of Japanese red pine's split wood for a 10-days-long burning in a kiln after molding with potter's wheel.
It is natural and traditional pottery created with precious materials and a long time.
Just want to share.
I finally have the chance to put to use all the SyuRo tea canisters from my last order. They look beautiful. I can’t wait for the canisters to patina with use. Becoming even more precious.
Love shopping from Shokunin. Can’t wait to visit a showroom one day on my next visit.

My goods arrived perfectly, and very well packaged. I am used to buying from European shops, and they don't package the things as well as you do.
My Nousaku Wind Bell Horn is elegant, and has a beautiful sound. I bought it as a gift, and it was a huge success. The Ichiyougama cups are very pretty and well crafted. The material is very pleasant to the touch, and we will have to get more soon!

I used the Ichiyougama wine cup for houjicha this morning! It was a perfect cup as I brewed the tea in a higher temperature than sencha.
The foot was perfect for holding the cup as it is not too hot!

Ichiyougama
Wine Cup
It was created by considering the kind of vessel that was used to drink wines in the past 8000 years. It could be used as black glass, shutting down any prejudice over tastes due to color. We have requested to produce a design simpler than the previous ones. Although there may be individual differences, depending on the vessel, the taste can be more mellow or sweeter. It can also be used for barley tea and beer as well. Please try it out by all means.

Ichiyougama
Established in 1947 by Ichiyou Kimura, who was a second son of the 13th generation of Kimura family, one of the six family groups who monopolistically owned the largest pottery production centers of Bizen ware throughout the Edo period. Ichiyougama was established as Ichiyou Kimura set up a branch family. Ichiyougama owns a workshop and a kiln in the premises. Bizen City has the oldest potteries in Japan.
