Stainless Bowl is an immortal work designed by Sori Yanagi in 1960. The product was made after a long period of research based on the opinions of the culinary researcher, Tomi Egami, and many other housewives.
The product utilizes the best material, the 18-8 Stainless Steel, and thus, it is durable and clean. Further, as the bowl is matted, scratches hardly appear on the surface. It is the most popular stainless steel bowl in Japan. By all means, please make use of it in your everyday cooking.
My shopping experience at Shokunin was wonderful all around. The items I purchased are beautiful. They arrived very quickly from Japan, and the wrapping and packaging were beautifully done. Shipping costs were very reasonable considering that it’s coming from Japan to the US.
They also have great customer service.
I’m getting ready to place another order with them.

I am completely satisfied with your product. The bowls are so well made and just lovely to use. I bought them to replace a glass set that was so heavy to lift with my arthritis. These are the same size but so much lighter.
They arrived safely packaged and quickly.
I have enjoyed using them.I am so pleased to have found your company and the wonderful products that you carry. Your products are amazing and the shipping is so reasonable. No one should have any hesitation to buy from you.

Thank you for yet another wonderful shopping experience. Everything is always immaculately packed with so much care and attention. Every item is also so much more beautiful and impressive in person! These are the best utility bowls I have ever used. The shape and depth are perfect. I ordered every single size available and I consistently use every single size for a variety of uses. 13cm for sauces, small quantity items like spring onion, garlic or ginger. 16cm and 19cm for cooking preparation. 23cm and 27cm for baking preparation and noodles. I do most of my cake mixing using a hand mixer with the 27cm bowl which is perfect because of its depth. I use all these bowls so much that I have 3 of each. Despite being stainless steel, they actually look really presentable and I occasionally use them at the table.
It is great to have a matching strainer for the bowls. Fabulous quality. It is a thin layer of metal with holes rather than mesh. The wide diameter is very handy for quickly draining straight from a saucepan or pot. Not suitable for very straining very small/fine things eg. you won't be able to get a clear sauce or soup with these as the holes are unfortunately too big for this task.

It can be used to keep chopped ingredients separate or to mix seasonings and dressings. The 13cm, 16cm, and 19cm sizes are suitable for stacking due to their nested shape with narrowed bottoms.

While Sori Yanagi is the eldest son of Muneyoshi Yanagi, who's known as the father of the folk craft movement in Japan, he is regarded as the greatest contributor to the establishment and development of the Japanese industrial design. Many products that were announced over 50 years ago are still praised today as representative product designs of Japan.
