Shirokiya Shikkiten's Eto Sake Cup

This small sake cup is made by a technique called “keshikinji,” in which extremely fine gold powder called “keshifun” is sprinkled on the lacquered surface.

Keshikinji is a technique that Aizu lacquerware specializes in, and has a softer finish than gold leaf coating. The bright orange color of the araishu lacquer is beautifully reflected in the gorgeous gold background, giving the sake cup a luxurious yet relaxed feel.

The small sake cups, each decorated with a hand-painted zodiac design, are suitable for toasting at New Year's and festive occasions and as gifts for good luck.
