Tohoku Kogei's Nut Bowl

Tohoku Kogei, established in 1951, is the only manufacturer that conveys Tamamushi-nuri to the modern era.

Mrs. MacArthur has visited its' shop in 1949. And in 2013, the company's product was given by the prefectural governor to Caroline Kennedy who was the U.S. ambassador.

A nut bowl which features vivid shade resembling an iridescent winged feather. Silver powder on the whole surface and painted with transparent color lacquer finished. A beautiful curved silhouette is an impressive long-selling item.

This bowl can be used on many occasion because of its perfect size and design. Besides nuts and snacks, it is also useful as a salad bowl or small dish for condiments. We also recommend it for a gift.

I'm VERY SATISFIED & happy with all the products in my order. The items meet my expectations & the descriptions. Please convey my sincere appreciation to the Masters who created the products, I will treasure and use them with good care. I will continue to purchase from you. I wish you the best of luck in your search for many more Master Craftsmen. Just a little feedback on my purchase, hope it is useful to you: Nut Bowl is a beautiful bowl. The color is darker than the image in the picture, it looks more brown than red even under the light/sunlight. I prefer to see a red tone instead of brown. The boxes in which the items arrived were dented, damaged at the corners & dirty. I was very worried with the delivery as most items are fragile especially the table. Fortunately the table was so carefully cushioned inside, it survived the rough handling. I have full confidence in the packaging & handling from all departments in Japan, however, the package handling outside of Japan is not reliable from my experiences. The only exception is DHL, they never disappoint me & the boxes always arrive in good condition & clean like new. Wishing you good health & stay safe.

I am astounded and delighted that all of my (very well packed) items arrived this morning in London 36 hours after being sent from you in Kyoto! I look forward to many years of use from them. Thanks again for the great service. I am satisfied with the products. I have noticed that the teacups do show some slight lines in the porcelain with use of green tea but that, I expect, is a natural feature of use. The teapot and nuts bowl also are looking very well and getting daily use! I will definitely drop by the shop the next time I visit Kyoto.

Gladly, I found the lacquerware that I bought at your shop, and it's really beautiful. Yesterday, I showed it to my family and they were amazed at its beauty. The lacquerware I bought is really pretty, and its shine and color are really charming under the light.
