Rug in Snowy Landscape is manufactured by Hozumi Seni Kogyo, which was established in Nakayamamachi, Higashimurayama-gun, Yamagata Prefecture, in 1947 as a hand-woven dantsu factory.
The factory continues to produce rugs made of natural materials such as hemp and denim, and local mothers support the labor-intensive production process. Each rug is spun one by one using a hand hook.
Inspired by the snowy landscape of Yamagata, the Rug in Snowy Landscape is characterized by the moderate softness of its denim selvage. It is a comfortable rug to step on and use in a space where people gather.
