Futagami's Cutlery

Futagami is a brass lifestyle brand launched in 2009 by Futagami Co., Ltd., a foundry established in 1897, together with designer Masanori Oji.

Takaoka copperware is a traditional craft that has been handed down in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, for approximately 400 years. Brass has been used in a variety of fields, including architectural hardware, ship fittings, and furniture fittings. It also has a long history as a material for arts and crafts and Buddhist altar fittings because of the soft texture and elegant luster of the material.

The more you use brass, the more its surface oxidizes and develops a unique flavor, making it a material that will fit in with your daily life over time. Why don't you feel the desire to cherish and watch over it like a treasure that has been by your side since childhood, as time passes?

This item is usually shipped in 3 business days. We will inform you of the estimated shipping date if shipping is delayed due to a shortage.

Lead-Free Brass
Under the Food Sanitation Law, if tableware is made of copper alloy materials such as brass, it must have a lead content of 0.1% or less, and the parts directly in contact with the mouth must be coated with copper or tin, etc. Futagami's Cutlery uses a proprietary "lead-free brass" material to control workability, strength, color and taste. The silver plating on the parts that come into contact with the mouth has proven to be anti-bacterial against bacteria in moisture, and the coating is hygienic and beautiful, with no metallic odor.

FUTAGAMI
Cutlery

This cutlery makes use of cast brass surfaces for the handles. All handles are finished with a cast brass surface, and the rough surface provides a firm grip when held in the hand. The part that touches the mouth is silver-plated, and lead-free brass, originally developed by our company, is used to control workability, strength, and color. Please enjoy the contrast between the brass and silver, the glossy feel when you hold it in your mouth, and the smooth texture of the cast surface when you hold it in your hand.
